Do I need a Doctors referral to see any of your healthcare professionals?

No, a Doctor’s referral is not necessary to book an appointment. That said, some group or personal insurance policies require a Doctor’s referral in order to reimburse you for some charges. This can include: Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Chiropody, Acupuncture, and custom stockings, braces, and/or orthotics.

Does OHIP cover PhysioCan Health services?

Physiotherapy services provided by PhysioCan Health is not covered by OHIP. Instead, we welcome Extended Health Benefit Plans, Motor Vehicle Accident claims (MVA), Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB), and Veteran Affairs plans.

Are your healthcare practitioners licensed and registered?

Yes, each and every one of our healthcare practitioners at each of our four locations are registered and in good standing with the following colleges. Furthermore, our practitioners are frequently adding to their qualifications with additional education.

What can I expect from my first visit?

Please call ahead to make an appointment. The day of, plan on arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to fill out intake forms. A receptionist will also walk you through the clinic’s policies and facilities. Please bring with you any relevant doctors reports, medical test results, a full list of your medications, and any other information you feel will help us with your care. Your practitioner will take a thorough medical history, and listen while you describe your symptoms, goals, and concerns. During your first visit, your practitioner will perform a thorough physical assessment of the affected areas, explaining each step of the exam, confirming consent throughout, and ensuring your comfort. Taking into account both medical history, the assessment, and your rehabilitation goals a multidisciplinary treatment plan will be designed. Your treatment plan may involve Physiotherapy, Chiropractic care, Massage Therapy, Chiropody, Naturopathic Medicine, and/or Yoga, in addition to custom braces, stockings, or orthotics. Your practitioner will confirm your consent, and explain the next steps.

What can I expect from my treatment sessions?

At each appointment, you will receive a thorough and effective treatment. You can expect your treatment to take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your condition and the treatment required. Throughout each and every appointment, your practitioner will inform you of your progress, and make sure you are comfortable as possible.

What should I wear?

Wear non-restrictive, comfortable clothing to your visits. Make sure that your outfit allows your practitioner to properly monitor the affected area. We suggest wearing comfortable, close toed shoes, such as running shoes. Please do not hesitate to contact us prior to your appointment for clarification on any questions you may have.

Will my insurance benefits pay for any of your services?

Most PhysioCan Health services are covered by extended health benefits. Insurance companies often cover Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Chiropractic Care, Chiropody, Orthotics, Custom shoes, compression stockings, and Acupuncture. Before engaging in a treatment plan, we strongly recommend that you review your policy, or contact your provider. They will confirm the details of your plan, and walk you through coverage details, and billing information. At each of our four locations, our staff will happily assist you in contacting your insurance company, and make sure that you find out the information you need to know. PhysioCan Health provides direct billing to many insurance companies. Let us submit your insurance claims, while you focus on your recovery.

Will your clinic treat me if I have been in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) or in a workplace related injury (WSIB)

Yes! In addition to supporting general mobility and rehabilitation concerns, PhysioCan Health treats individuals who have been in car accidents, and work related accidents.
